Driver Failed To Yield At A Stop Sign Causing A Fatality

A fatality accident occurred on Thursday, July 7 at 3:40 p.m.   The accident occurred at County Line and Middle Urbana in Clark County and the Moorefield Twp. Ohio Highway Patrol responded to the scene.

Unit 2, a 2009 Ford Fusion, was southbound on Middle Urbana Pike.   Unit 1, a 2004 Honda Accord, was eastbound on East County Line Road.  Unit 1 failed to yield at a stop sign and struck Unit 2.   Unit 1 drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert and a utility pole.   Unit 2 drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

As a result of the accident the Unit 1 driver and four passengers (3 of which were children), were all seriously injured and taken to the Springfield Regional Hospital.  The driver of Unit 2 and his passenger were both deceased and taken to the Montgomery County Morgue.
