Driver Failure To Yield Right Of Way To Motorcycle Results In Fatality
On the morning of Saturday, June 4, the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of an accident in Union Township in Pike County, at approximately 7:15 a.m. that resulted in one fatality.
Unit 1, a 2021 Yaotao TBR7 motorcycle, was southbound on Straight Creek Road, making a left turn onto Coal Dock Road. Unit 2, a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, was eastbound on Coal Dock Road. Unit 2 failed to yield and struck Unit 1, forcing Unit 1 backward due to the impact, which forced him to lay down the motorcycle on its side, forcing him off the north side of the road into a ditch. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Adena Pike Hospital in Waverly by Medcare and passed away, as a result of his injuries.
