Man Died In Vehicle Collision In Vinton County
A 58-year-old man died after a fatal car crash involving two cars and a semi-truck on State Route 93 in Vinton County. The accident occurred around 8:55 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3rd.
The crash was reportedly initiated when a 2012 Mazda CX-9 traveling northbound on State Route 93 slowed down for an animal crossing the road. A semi-truck behind this car crossed the center line in slowing down, hitting the 2005 Toyota Camry of a 58-year-old man traveling southbound. The Camry was hit to the right side of the road, where it was reported to be struck by the Mazda that initially slowed down.
The driver of the 2005 Toyota Camry was brought to the hospital after the crash by Vinton County Emergency Medical Service personnel, where he later passed away due to his injuries. There were no other reported injuries.
