What compensation can be recovered for your injuries?
In so many cases, motorcycle accidents happen at no fault of the rider. But that doesn’t stop the insurance companies from treating bikers unfairly. You might have been hit by a distracted driver while waiting at a stoplight in Columbus. Even when the fault of the driver is clear, insurance companies often try to make it look like it was the motorcycle operator’s fault. And if they can’t pin the blame on the motorcycle rider, they may try to pressure you to accept a quick settlement that doesn’t cover all of your losses.
Can you help me if I’ve been in a motorcycle accident?
Yes. Columbus, OH Attorney Mike Christensen has years of experience helping victims of motorcycle accidents. He has taken on the insurance companies who tried to minimize the claims of victims and won. He can put his knowledge and experience to work for you, too. Contact Michael D. Christensen Law Offices to learn more about how we can help you in your case.
Motorcycle accidents can be terrifying. That’s because motorcyclists are vulnerable out on the road. Cars and trucks provide some protection from crashes for people inside them. But a motorcyclist has very little crash protection and can suffer severe injuries as a result. There were more than 3,000 motorcycle accident injuries in Ohio in 2014. In Franklin County, national government statistics reveal there were 10 motorcycle fatalities.
Motorcyclists have a right to be on the road. And if a negligent driver causes a crash that results in injury, motorcyclists have a right to compensation.

What should I do if I’ve been in a motorcycle accident?
First, call 911 and get help. Wait for the police and medical personnel to arrive on the scene. If you are not seriously injured, there are other steps you can take.
Write down the make, model and license plate numbers of all vehicles involved in the accident. If you have a smartphone, take photos of the scene.
Explain what happened to the police, but don’t accept responsibility for the crash. (Get a copy of the accident report as soon as you can.) In addition, take time later in the day to write down details about the crash. There’s a lot going on after a crash, so it helps to get your account in writing while your memory of the accident is still fresh.
Get medical attention. In addition to getting looked at by an emergency responder on the scene, make an appointment with a doctor soon after the accident.
Don’t repair your motorcycle. It may need to be examined by one of our experts.
Lastly, don’t talk to the insurance company until you have received legal advice. Contact us for a free case evaluation.
