Amish Man Arrested For Wrong Way Vehicle Chase
An Amish man was arrested on Saturday, May 14, after a brief low-speed chase. The incident happened in Ashtabula, Ohio.
Police reportedly got a call regarding a driver going the wrong way on the road. When police went to investigate, they realized that it was an Amish buggy, being pulled by a horse. The officer tried to get the buggy to pull over, but the horse kept going around the police car. The buggy finally stopped when the horse ran into the police car, flinging the driver out. The man reportedly smelled of alcohol and blew a breathalyzer of 0.063%.
When the man came to his senses and proved to have control over the horse in a conscious state, he was reported to be arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The horse was not hurt, and neither was the deputy.
