Truck Failed To Negotiate A Curve Resulting In Serious Injuries
On the evening of Thursday, July 21, at 5:15 p.m., the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Berlin Township, Knox County responded to a serious injury accident. The accident occurred at SR 95 and CR 5.
Unit 1, a 2004 Freightlinger, Columbia, was southbound on SR 95. Unit 2, a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, was eastbound on SR 95. Unit 1 failed to negotiate a curve and struck the front left side of Unit 2. After the impact, Unit 1 drove off the left side of CR 5 and Unit 2 drove off the right side of CR 5.
The Unit 1 driver did not sustain any injuries. Unit 2 sustained serious injuries and was seen by Mount Vernon EMS, who took the driver to the OSU Wexner Medical Center.
The driver of Unit 1 was cited for not staying in their lane of travel, causing a serious accident.
